About

My name is Amanda, I am a yoga teacher, teacher trainer, and movement coach with over 20 years of teaching experience. I have been blessed with a teacher’s heart and love working with people of all abilities and from all backgrounds.

I have completed over 2000 hours of yoga teacher trainings, including further in-depth study in Chair Yoga, Restorative Yoga, Yin Yoga, Meditation, Yoga Nidra and Kids Yoga. I hold a Pilates mat work teaching certificate and a Master’s degree in Pedagogy. I am a member of Yoga Alliance and am a Yoga Alliance Continuing Education Provider (YACEP).

With a background in professional dance, I've always been passionate about movement and the body. But after suffering a back injury and being diagnosed with a chronic type of blood cancer I found myself living with physical pain and increasing anxiety.

Through the practice of yoga, I found healing and a renewed sense of strength in my body. I discovered that the mindful movement of yoga not only helped me manage my chronic illness and anxiety but also aided in the healing of my back injury. At 51 years of age I feel strong and flexible.

As a yoga teacher, I humbly bring a perspective to my teaching practice that is grounded in empathy and shaped by my personal journey. Having faced my own battles with chronic illness and injury, I've gained an understanding that helps me connect with my students on a deeper level. This understanding allows me to foster a safe and nurturing environment, catering to practitioners of all levels with compassion and care.

With the emphasis on empathy and personal growth, I strive to create a space where everyone feels welcome, accepted, and supported. I believe that yoga is not just a physical practice but an opportunity for inner healing and transformation. I encourage my students to honour their bodies and listen to their inner voices, fostering a sense of self-awareness and self-compassion.

So, let’s embark on a journey of building strength, flexibility, and balance not only in our bodies but also in our minds. I hope to inspire and empower you to embrace your uniqueness and embark on your own transformative path of yoga and self-discovery.
